Romain Nosbaum was born in Basel (Switzerland). He started the piano at the age of 7
and attended the conservatories of Luxembourg, Metz, Bern and the Musikakademie Basel.
His previous teachers include Michèle Ries, Alexander Müllenbach, Rada Petkova, Marie-Paule Aboulker, Peter Efler, André Dumortier, Gérard Wyss, Emile Naoumov, Mikhail Faerman, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, and Norman Shetler (Salzburg).
Many concerts have led him all over Europe and Russia as a soloist and more often as a brilliant chamber music partner. Known as a sensitive and introverted Interpreter, Romain Nosbaum shows a particular affection for the romantic repertory and for the Lied and french melody. Beside his concert activities, he is also investing a lot of time
as a piano teacher.
